I was chastised today and others, by folks who will remain nameless, but I was told that I need to post more often….

My response “Is our life that interesting that you actually need to read about it too?” LOL

I guess…

So today was suppose to be one of our lazy days… Knoah has been involved with our local “Be their Hero from Age Zero” camp for the last 4 weeks.

Today started off as any other day, kids get up, eat breakfast, I get them dressed. Simple enough.

We head off to camp where today’s highlight is the Frenchtown Fire Department is on scene. No, not for Knoah, thank god!

So, we start camp off with a few songs then head over to the park to play. I must admit, when we first found out we were having another child nearly 6 years after our last, I worried about the age gap. I worried that he this little boy wouldn’t have any sibling playmates because they would think he was a burden…boy was I wrong! Let me tell you, having Knoah when we did has been a Godsend for Jacob and Hannah!

They both adore their brother and love to play with him!

Hannah, being the Queen of the one liners, comes up with the funniest comments. Today, she exclaims that Knoah is “as heavy as a baby Rhino”….

Yeah, I am thinking, you pack 26 pounds of Hot Dogs on a 30 inch frame and see how much you weigh.

So, the Fire Department makes an appearance after a call. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it! They got to try on a fireman’s hat, sit in the Fire Engine and play with the water hose!

After camp, we came home I put Knoah down for a nap, because well, his internal clock is off and waking up at the crack of dawn seems to be his niche. Knoah without a nap is not something you want to see. He gets very mean when he’s tired! He will grab the first thing he sees to throw it or if that doesn’t work, he tries to bite the closest thing to him, which is usually one of the kid’s butts if their standing next to him. If that fails, he slaps, so nap time is PRIORITY in our house!

Later I decided to take them to McDonald’s to play. Knoah LOVES being outside, unfortunately, so do the Jurassic Park sized Mosquitoes that inhabit our yard! Jacob and Knoah are both HIGHLY allergic to their bites! They don’t end up with tiny, itchy bumps, they get massive, golf ball sized welts! Poor boys look like they took a few rounds with a baseball bat after a few minutes being outside, so I try to keep them indoors.

Yes, this is when it all falls apart….

There’s a saying in our house since Knoah’s birth….”Watch BELOW the knees!” If your not watching where your walking, well Knoah is likely to be inadvertently “bumped”.

Well, yes, another bad mom award because after I ordered their food, I grabbed the tray, turned around to scope Knoah’s location and start walking toward the soda fountain. No, I don’t have photo’s, however, I will say, everyone in the restaurant heard him hit the floor and turned to look when he let out this scream.

Yep, he flew a good 2 feet or so before he landed on the floor, head smacking as hard as it could against the garbage can.

Geez O’ Petes!

Everything I had dropped to the floor to pick him up. Knoah screaming, people looking at me and I have him cradled against my chest examining every inch of his skull for blood, scrapes or other injuries inflicted with the “garbage can incident”.

Nope, he’s good, except his head ended up having a bump the size of my palm, which in all fairness doesn’t mean a whole lot since I only wear a size 4.5 wedding ring, so it’s not really that big, but still.

I pondered the ER for a few minutes, but after he calmed down and started eating, I knew he was fine.

I swear, a friend of mine who has Achondroplasia remarked if she had a “head made of rubber”. I am convinced his is. I do not know how many hits this kid can take and still walk away and play. Seriously!

So, the day ended with ice cream and a guilty conscious. Ice cream for Knoah and a large guilt shake for me.

Each day that passes without a Knoah incident is a good day! I am just going to invest in a helmet for him, have suggestions?
