So, to pick up where we left off, we didn’t obivously get to see everything we wanted to in New York. With my being in meetings, Will kept the kids busy by walking the streets of Brooklyn and taking them to the New York Firefighters Museum.

Later, I scored a babysitter (Love you Jillian!) and several of us went out on the town and enjoyed some adult time, but not before the kids saw some action of their own!

We spent a lot of time with our blogging friends and as some of you may know on Tuesday, we had planned on getting up at 5am to head uptown to the Today show. However, planning and actually doing it was something completely different. All I will say was yes, I was up at 4:30am on Tuesday morning and when I made the finally decision that “no, I was not going” it was for the benefit of myself and friends…..no one needed to see how much I drank the night before….enough said….

So, when we got in that night, this is what we saw:

Hannah, Evan and Jacob asleep in bed….awww, how cute!

Then we turn to the Queen bed and saw this…..

Wait a second!

Knoah and Caitlin! Oh No! Not yet!! LOL

Knoah met another little friend named Jawan. Jawan is a 4 year old little boy with MOPD type 2 or Primordial dwarfism. They had a crowd of people gathered around them for around 20 minutes while they went back and forth “fighting” over a fireman’s plastic hat! It was quite hysterical and the boys made quick friends.

Our final days were spent soaking up city life and how much we enjoyed our time in New York!

We took the kids to the Museum of Natural History, the subject of the movie Night at the Museum, with Ben Stiller. The kids thought it was awesome!

They saw some many things from the movie like the Statue from Easter Island or “Dum, Dum give some Gum-Gum!”

The highlight of the trip for the kids though, came about 10 minutes before the car was to pick us up to go to the airport! I knew Warwick Davis, was going to be attending the conference. Mr. Davis is a UK actor who’s flim credits include Star Wars, Willow and Harry Potter, in which he plays Prof. Flitwick.

Jacob, being the ultimate Harry Potter fan, was delighted when he meet Mr. Davis.

All in all, we met some great people, people who we have know from blogging, but meeting them was awesome!

Coming home was quite an adventure as Jacob wanted a window seat, so the stewardess gave him one….4 aisles away from us. He sat there the whole flight alone!

Our time spent in New York is certainly one for the memory books! I greatly miss my friends and cannot wait until we meet again next year!

Thank you for helping us make this trip possible and for helping Knoah met other children just like himself!

LPA is a fantastic resource for families and people with dwarfism and I look forward to a long working relationship with them in the future! I also would like to thank the 2009 LPA ANtional committee as they put on one hell of a conference! A standing ovation for all your hard work and dedication!!

BRAVO!!
