Yes, we had cake for Knoah’s birthday!!

A homemade cake! Not nicely decorated, but hey it was edible and didn’t last 24 hours so I will not complain!

I made Knoah his own personal cake. Being a newly created germ-a-fob, I felt it was in order since little lips (Knoah’s) like to spit (germs galore) all over the place.

We thought it would go over well….

It did.

So well, Hannah joined in…

As did Jacob, with the strategically placed cake on the tip of the nose. God loves a clean child!

After we sang Happy Birthday and ate, we let the kid’s play on the play-scape, I mean that’s the only reason parent’s really want to eat at McDonald’s right!

Knoah had a blast with the other kids. I took him up into the play-scape because, well I need the exercise. I realized while it was fun when I was 13, it’s not that much fun as an adult. I don’t know what happens to our bodies as we age, but I don’t remember my knees hurting that much!

The kid’s had a blast and were tuckered out no sooner than we got home.

Thanks to everyone who wished Knoah a Happy Birthday! I am so overwhelmed that my little guy has touched so many people! It is times like this I am reminded that no one said this new life was going to be a piece of cake.

I am glad no one did. Going into our life with Knoah, many, many people told us of the struggles we would have. The unexpected sidebars we would face, the times when even when I didn’t realize it, I would go on autopilot just to make it through the day. Do I still have those days, of coarse.

One of them was Friday. I drove up to U of M for Knoah’s CT. All the way there I visualized the many ways the appointment could go. Feeling my heart stop ever so slightly, only to restart again off beat.

Amy, met me up there. I am so thankful she did, because she kept my mind off of the appointment! They got Knoah into the CT faster than I could say “Diddly-Do”! He was not happy! Then again being strapped down to a board with the cylinder circling around you would be enough to piss anyone off! Which is putting it mildly.

Amy and I sat and talked while we waited for the doctor. She was gracious enough to pick Knoah up some puzzles which he had a grand old time throwing about the room.

When the doctor finally came in, we talked about his ventricles. How they looked compared to last time. In all, he said this look okay. Some areas look worse, some areas look better. I asked about the Foramen Magnum and if that could be a cause for the fluid increase. He agreed and ordered an MRI to see where were at. He wasn’t able to get a good view of it on the CT, so in a few weeks well have the MRI to plot the course of action, but right now, it looks okay.

BREATH! That is a huge weight lifted off of me! I see know why he has a big old noggin. All the attention given to him is going straight to his head….okay, not funny….YES IT IS!

Amy is GREAT!

Knoah really took to her, but I think it’s because she came donning gifts that tipped him over the edge!

After the appointment we had lunch to sit and talk. Thank you Amy for being there!!!

It was a good day and not without my sick sense of humor…

Notice the shirt? Pretty clever of mom, wasn’t it. He did have an CT of the head, why not see the inside of the rest of him too?

Yeah, no one said it was going to be a piece of cake…but even if it’s a brownie…I’ll eat that too!
