In laymen&#8217;s terms, Achondroplasia and Thanatophoric nearly mimic each other in utero. The only difference is the fetus&#8217;s chest measurement and limbs. Perinatologists can usually tell what dwarfing condition it is. In TD, the limbs of the fetus will always fall below the 5% percentile. In our world, on the baby, the inches between the babies foot and hip is about 3 inches. The baby&#8217;s chest will appear extremely small when compared to the abdomen. The fetus&#8217;s torso will have a pear shape. A baby with TD will not survive. The infant will succumb to suffercation. Their lungs are not able to fully devolpe because their chest cavities are so small. [...]</description>
